Hiking
Hiking in Casentino
Hiking, too, starts right at the house.
The surrounding nature with its vast panoramic landscapes provide peaceful hiking trails to abandoned villages and ruins. The natural beauty of the flora and fauna offer new discoveries with the arrival of each of season.
The duration and difficulty of the hikes can also be adapted to children.
Your dog, too, will be enthousiastic about dog hikes!
One of many different wonderful tours leads to the Franciscan monastery La Verna at a distance of 14 km. On the south side of the mountain you will find the monastery of La Verna where, according to legend, St Francis of Assisi communed with the birds and received his stigmata. It’s part of the Pilgrim’s way La Via Romea, track Camaldoli-LaVerna-Assisi.
Another very diversified track is the circular route to the abandoned village of Montesilvestre, where the last houses have recently collapsed. Nevertheless, not only the ruins are still very picturesque, but also the panoramic view through the Vallesanta valley.
Maps available, but we are also happy to give you personal tips!
